Class 5 - April Update

Class 5 have returned from the Easter break fully refreshed after a very busy and jam-packed term in the Spring. Four snow days meant we had to squeeze everything from an already short term into an even shorter one, but the children did amazingly well to handle the workload.

The term ended on a high with the three triumphant performances of the Easter production, complete with a full score of original songs, performed alongside the Year 5 children. In the music lessons, the children explored the Easter story and decided which were the inciting incidents that would be good to structure their songs around. They then worked in small groups to write two songs each (with the words and music for both). All of the Year 5/6 children then learned each song and performed their compositions confidently in front of packed out audiences.

The spring term also saw the children go on their residential visit to Robinwood. As usual, they did us proud with the excellent behaviour; not only that, their attitudes to trying all of the activities were fantastic. You can see photos from our visit on the Newsletter tab at the top of the page.

As the summer term commences, we are hitting the ground running with our preparation for the SATs tests taking place in May. The children are working really hard and trying their best so I'm sure that they will go as smoothly as possible.

We also have things such as sports week, enterprise week and the leavers' service and event to look forward to towards the latter half of the term.
